Students!
Academic WorldQuest is for YOU!

Ready to compete with other Sonoma County students for the third annual all-expense paid trip to Washington DC next April? All you need is your interest in world events, and a competitive spirit. Whatever your Sonoma County high school, you can get the ball rolling now.

Here’s how-- alert your parents, put together a 4-student team, then contact Chris Nelle, AWQ coordinator (pictured here with the ’24 winning team from Maria Carillo High School).

Once your team is formed and your high school is entered, Chris will provide you with materials to prepare for the county competition in March. Should you win that (and why not?), your team will head for Washington for the April nationals.

Academic WorldQuest is proudly sponsored by the World Affairs Council of Sonoma County.

What we need for the 2024/2025 study season:

  1. Additional Sonoma County high schools to participate.
  2. Donations from private individuals and the business community to support this program.
  3. Volunteers to work directly with schools and teachers.
