Why Academic WorldQuestTM?

Because Sonoma County high school students love it. Because our country, and the world, needs them to lead into the future. And because it’s fun!

This year’s March 2nd competition had seven teams from four high schools and was a resounding success. The winners -- students of Maria Carrillo High School Maia Benefield, Sebin Park, Charlotte Harper, and Lutece Morelle Soon they’re off to the national competition in Washington DC, on April 19-20.

Other competing schools were Analy High School, Petaluma High School, and Roseland Collegiate High. All were very impressive.

In a broad sense, with AWQ there are only winners, as young people challenge themselves to strive, grow and show everyone what they can do, with the entire country the better for it!

What we need for the 2024/2025 study season:

  1. Additional Sonoma County high schools to participate.
  2. Donations from private individuals and the business community to support this program.
  3. Volunteers to work directly with schools and teachers.
