Immigration, Power, and
the Future of Democracy
with Jeremy Robbins
Executive Director,
American Immigration Council

Jeremy Robbin's sponsor is Michele Chaboudy,
President, WACSC
About the Program
Immigration is making the news on a daily basis, upending expectations and politics across the country and the world. Communities are impacted near and far, often leaving families distraught. Many people are asking whether our current national policies are altering or even poisoning our democracy.
Enter Jeremy Robbins, of the American Immigration Council. In his talk “America at the Brink: Immigration, Power and the Future of Democracy.” Robbins will address this fraught topic head-on, lifting the veil on the current U.S. deportation playbook, and that of ICE agents and border patrols. What myths about immigration are crucial for us to know? Is the system as it stands inevitable? What would changing it look like?
Full disclosure: Robbins, and the American Immigration Council of which he is Executive Director, envision a nation where immigrants are embraced, communities are enriched, and justice prevails for all. He says, “We strive to create a society that values immigrants as vital contributors to our nation and where everyone is afforded an equal opportunity to thrive socially, economically, and culturally.”
Agree or disagree, what issue could be more urgent?
