The Challenges Posed
by Putin's Russia

With former Ambassador to Ukraine,

Steven Pifer

Steven Pifer's Sponsor is
Mike Morrison, Member Board of Directors, WACSC

About the Program

When the Trump administration takes office later this month, it will face a variety of complex foreign policy challenges, several of which feature Russia at the center.  The Russian military is waging the largest war that Europe has seen since World War II.  The arms control regime that provided guardrails to contain the U.S.-Russian nuclear competition is collapsing.  Moscow is aligning with China, Iran and North Korea in ways that work against U.S. interests.

Ambassador Pifer will discuss these challenges and how the United States should respond.
